Matt is responsible for actively building our pipeline of prospective school partners by cultivating strong relationships with charter schools and community stakeholders. He is charged with structuring and underwriting transactions and executing CIF’s permanent financing strategy.
Matt brings over 20 years of experience financing and refinancing projects for a range of nonprofits including small colleges, public universities, land conservation, and student housing. He developed financing plans and managed complex restructurings including current and advance refundings, hedging and forward strategies. Matt has extensive experience leading clients through rating agency and credit enhancement strategies including leading a team to develop a national revolving loan fund for a large non-profit that was recognized as a Deal of the Year by The Bond Buyer.
In addition to his work in municipal finance, early in his career Matt worked for the New York City Mayor’s Office of Management and Budget as a Senior Analyst for the City’s debt issuance program. He also taught history and music at the New York City High School for the Humanities.
Matt holds a BA from Georgetown University in History and an MPA from Columbia University.
